ARTMediaWorks is a non-profit project aiming to build up a community of artists, an alternative space that could be defined as a platform to promote the use of Open Source Software
A networking space for artists who’d like getting involved at organizing artistic projects, productions or events, in order to raise money for good causes, offering the chance to be creative with a purpose while being rewarded with the positive energy that altruistic action can spread. Some examples of project categories can be: Art exhibition, Music concert, Music recording, Music Video-clip, Paintings, Auctions, Podcast, Audiobooks…
Examples of good causes to stand for might be as varied as: Open Source Software development, Environment, Donations, Fundraising, Crowdfunding, Helping a needy, Workshops to gain non-paid experience, etc.
Mission & Vision:
ARTMediaWorks is an on-line community project set to promote the use of Open Source Software (OSS) through the implementation of Art & Media content creation workshops. A space to promote creativity while sharing values of a cooperation and solidarity in a collaborative atmosphere. It would work as a creative lab in order to help producing media content by the open source software users’ community.
One of our missions is organizing creative workshops to allow young or inexperienced artists gain experience while working with senior or professional ones.
Members of the community would offer their skills and expertise in partnership with other projects or initiatives. …
Values:
- Promote the production of media content by and for communities, while sharing knowledge and experience in a cooperative atmosphere.
- Encouraging members of the community to collaborate and participate in the production of their own media, while helping them to express their own needs, initiatives and activism.
- Help people to increase their technical skills while gaining confidence and experience.
- Create a positive impact on the community, through the elaboration of media content able to reinforce a sense of belonging, while setting the basis for alternative methods to generate income.
FOSS / Free & Open Source Software:
In order to keep our loyalty to the values exposed, the entire project is expected to run entirely on FOSS (Free & Open Source Software)
Workshops (guidelines):
Every Workshop project you propose must be associated with a good cause or purpose. Some examples of project categories can be: Art exhibition, Music concert, Music recording, Music Video-clip, Paintings, Auctions, Podcast, Audiobooks… Examples of good causes to stand for might be as varied as: Open Source Software development, Environment, Donations, Fundraising, Crowdfunding, Helping a needy, Workshops to gain non-paid experience, etc.
Every Artist should be properly credited in any of the finished productions or events. ARTMediaWorks cares on rewarding the artists for their contribution, as well as providing the chance to gain experience.
